Hello, my lovely wonderful people, this is a new day and the beginning of a new way of doing things around this site, with the hope that it will lead to new ways of doing things in the world in general, and in the black world in particular.
This is a love letter to black brothers. Do you know what time of day it is? I mean, do you really know what hour the clock is striking as it pertains to what’s going on in the world at large?
The real movers and shakers know, and those, the very few who may not know as of yet, they are fast being brought up-to-date on the happenings. The environment matters |
Twenty-seven years ago, 1,700 of the world’s leading scientists urged humankind to curtail environmental destruction and improve our stewardship of the Earth, in order to attain a sustainable future. This warning was never given the attention and urgency it deserves.
In 2017, the Alliance of World Scientists published a Second Warning to Humanity, supported by over 20,000 scientists in 184 countries, pointing to runaway consumption of limited resources by a still rapidly growing population. It warned that:
“Humanity has failed to make sufficient progress in solving these foreseen environmental challenges, and alarmingly, most of them are getting far worse.
"…We are jeopardizing our future by not reining in our intense but geographically and demographically uneven material consumption and by not perceiving continued rapid population growth as a primary driver behind many ecological and even societal threats"
Their warning calls for changes in public policy and individual behaviors. It lists 13 policy measures essential to safeguarding our future, including “estimating a scientifically defensible, sustainable human population size for the long term while rallying nations and leaders to support that vital goal.”
Actions people can take as individuals include “limiting our own reproduction” and “drastically diminishing” our per capita resource consumption. Among other things. We shall be going through some of those on these pages over the next little while. And we are asking for your input and feedback on these troubling questions. One such question I would venture to ask you, my black brother, is where do you stand on the matter of a reduction in births rate as a method of reining in runaway population growth?
Are you far, or against?
Your reply Here
And, will you be willing to sign a pledge to limit your childbirth rate to, 0, or 1 but not more than 2?
Note: A TWO child average will not solve overpopulation
With a two-child average per woman (or per man), the total population would go up by about two billion more – by over nine billion before it even levels off! And it would not decline below 8 billion for another 200 years!
Dramatically reducing births is the only sensible option, and we need to start now – in order to achieve a sustainable population and a viable planet for all people.

Here are one of our favorite quotes, just for you.
Unlike plagues of the dark ages or contemporary diseases we do not understand, the modern plague of overpopulation is soluble by means we have discovered and with resources we possess. What is lacking is not sufficient knowledge of the solution but universal consciousness of the gravity of the problem and education of the billions who are its victim.

Further, I pledge and dedicate myself to educate my family and friends that the most important single thing we can do to help create a truly sustainable world is to voluntarily choose to have no more than one child. Because…
One child families can truly save humanity
